CUSTODIAN RESPONSIBILITIES
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Seeking a part-time janitorial position (10-12 hours weekly) for St. Kevin Parish. We are seeking an individual with experience in the upkeep of Parish buildings and grounds. He/she will be taking direction from the Pastor and Staff but will be working independently at times. The candidate must be punctual, reliable, trustworthy, self-motivated, observant, and helpful. He/she must maintain and demonstrate a cooperative attitude and effective working relationship with all groups, employees, volunteers and parishioners. Good basic fix-it skills are a plus. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
He/she will be responsible for care and maintenance of the Church, Sacristy, Hall and Parish Center. The duties in these areas will include thorough cleaning and restocking of all restrooms, trash and recycling disposal, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping.
He/she will assist in maintaining grounds, including landscaping of the garden. These duties include sweeping, watering, pruning and raking.
OCCASIONAL
Clean windows inside and out for Parish Center, Church, Halls (Annuzzi Hall and O’Malley Halls) Rooms (St. Joseph Room, St. Lourdes Room, Classroom – on Jarboe Street.
Keep/order janitorial supplies organized and stocked.
Provide other general assistance as needed: e.g., setting up tables and chairs in the facilities as requested, hauling and moving items and equipment.
Assist with after events clean up and ensuring tables, chairs etc. are return to original location
GENERAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
English preferred.
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Occasional on-call
Must have some knowledge of general floor maintenance liquids and procedures.
Must have knowledge of cleaning fluids and their applications.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs comfortably.
Good communications skills-oral and written with co-worker and supervisor.
Ability to set priorities and organize work effectively. Fast paced, hard working and detail oriented.
SALARY: Salary is commensurate with level of experience and Archdiocesan Salary Guidelines.
