JOB SUMMARY:
• Choose and prepare music for Mass
• Rehearse with cantors, choir members & other musicians
• Play piano, organ or guitar and direct at mass
• Help musicians and cantor/choir prepare and play at other masses
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate should be:
• A practicing Catholic and familiar with Catholic Liturgy
• Friendly and helpful with good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Have at least 2 years of experience playing at mass, leading and directing a choir and musicians.
• Must successfully complete background screening and safe environment training
HOURS:
Normal weekly hours: up to 4.5 hours performance rate & 5.5 hours rehearsal rate.
Performance Rate (Based on Archdiocesan pay rate and experience):
Regular masses you are responsible for:
• Sat 5pm; Sun 8:30am; Sun 11:00am
Up to 30 min after can be charged at the performance rate for clean up
Rehearsal Rate (Based on Archdiocesan pay rate and experience):
Up to 3.5 hours with choir/cantor and up to 2 hours for music selection and communication with staff & musicians.
Additional Season Liturgies:
• Feast Days & Holy Days (ie – New Year, Ash Wednesday, Triduum, Easter, Christmas)
• Weddings & Funerals (Music Director has the Right Of First Refusal)
PAY RANGE:
$30.91/hr - $46.36/hr.
